Legal Situation: Prostitution itself
is technically
legal, but several surrounding activities are outlawed which make it
hard to work legally. It is illegal to solicit or advertise or run a
brothel (= place where more than one girl works). It is also illegal
to kerb-crawl. A more detailed analysis of the
legal situation is available. Organizations working for the complete legalization of prostitution in the UK include the Corrective Party, run by an ex-pro (Lindi St. Clair). The age of consent: 16 for heteros, 18 for gays. Hard-core pornography is illegal; strip tease dancers cannot show pussy.
Finding prostitutes: Magazines with
informations: there is a national newspaper (the "Daily Sport")
published daily that
has lots of soft porn picture and among the personal ads there's a long
list under "personal" and "massage". Going rate here is 35-50 pounds for full personal
service.
